WOLCOTT, Conn. (AP) _ Wolcott police have seized about 100 roosters they suspect were used for illegal cockfighting.
Police say the birds showed signs of having been used in fights.
The Republican-American reports the raid was carried out Wednesday on the grounds of the Hillside Equestrian Meadows riding facility. Authorities say the roosters’ cages were on a portion of the property that was rented by two people from New Britain.
No arrests have been made.
