State police are asking for information from the public as they investigate an accident Monday afternoon on Interstate 84 which took the life of a 19-year-old Windsor man and tied up Interstate 84 eastbound through West Hartford for hours.

Police say Stephen Elliott was travelling eastbound near exit 43 when his vehicle went out of control,  hit the cement barrier off the right shoulder and rolled over several times.  Police closed I-84 eastbound and the on ramps from Park Road and Trout Brook Drive.

The highway was closed from shortly before 3:30 p.m. until around 7:00 p.m.

Witnesses to the accident are asked to call Trooper Boulanger at Troop H in Hartford,  (860) 534-1000.
