Man Who Stole Hasselhoff Signs Arrested

SHELTON, Conn. (AP) _ Shelton police have arrested a 19-year-old Milford man in connection with an incident in which a convenience store clerk was critically injured trying to stop thieves from stealing David Hasselhoff signs.

Adam Holter was charged with second-degree assault and second-degree reckless endangerment.

Authorities say on Aug. 20 a Cumberland Farms clerk saw a man cut two signs promoting iced coffee off a light pole and put them in an SUV. The employee was injured trying to confront the suspects as they sped away.

Police say the clerk, who suffered a head injury when he was hit by the thieves’ SUV and dragged, is still recovering.

Holter was released on $10,000 bond and is due in court Oct. 24.

Hasselhoff tweeted about the incident, urging people to pray that the 36-year-old clerk makes a full recovery.
