Hartford Employee Arrested Following Crash

An employee of the Department of Public Works in Hartford has been charged after a  crash Saturday night on Prospect Avenue  near the Farmington Avenue intersection.

Police say  a  city-owned Ford Escape  veered into oncoming traffic about 9:30 pm and collided head on with a car.The driver of the car was trapped and had to be extricated.She was taken to St. Francis Hospital with  an ankle injury and concussion and is listed in stable condition.

Rhonda Moniz- Carroll of Hartford was charged with  Driving Under the Influence and  Failure to  Travel in the Proper lane.She declined medical attention. The  city -owned vehicle also hit   a Jeep that was parked .The Department of Public Works  vehicle was totaled.
