A 5 month old girl was killed and an 11 month old is in critical condition young children after a crash Thursday afternoon, in Manchester.
Manchester Police Captain Chris Davis says two vehicles were involved in the crash.
“One vehicle was traveling northbound on Hillstown Road, and the other vehicle was heading westbound on Spencer Street when they collided in the intersection,” Davis said. “One of the vehicles went sideways and struck and telephone pole and rolled over.”
Manchester Fire Chief Robert Bycholski says the children were trapped inside an SUV, and had to be cut out.
“In order to perform the extrication the crews had to be inside the vehicle,” Bycholski said. “The only point of entry was through a moon roof. It was very difficult to perform the extrication, but it was done quickly.”
Both children were properly secured in child safety seats at the time of the accident.
Anyone who has information or witnessed the collision is asked to contact Officer Aaron Calkins at 860-645-5560.
