Middletown Crash Injures 5

Five people were seriously injured late Saturday night in  a head-on collision on Route 66, Washington Street in Middletown.Police say a car driven by 21 year old Holden Andeen of Higganum  was traveling west  near Old Mill Road about 11:45 pm  and was  struck by a vehicle  Driven by 19 year old Joseph Durkin of Middletown, causing Andeen’s car to roll onto its side.

Andeen and his passenger, 21 year old Cameron Bailey of Haddam  had to be extricated from their vehicle  and were  taken to the hospital via ambulance.Durkin, along with his two passengers,19 yar old  Andre Bonvouloir of Middletown and 18 year old Danielle  Whalen of  Middletown  were also   taken to the hospital.Bonvouloir was taken by Life Star helicopter to Hartford Hospital.

Route 66 was closed for about 6 hours.Middletown Police continue to investigate.
