Naugatuck Jeep Theft Caught On Video

Naugatuck Police say on August 5, a Jeep Cherokee was parked at a Cumberland Farms store on North Main Street.

It was unlocked, with no one inside, not running but with the keys in the ignition.

In the video, a white Mercedes pulled up, someone gets out of the Mercedes, and gets into the Jeep.

Both vehicles then drive away.

Before the start of this video, police say the Mercedes entered the parking lot several times, possibly so its occupants could take a closer look at the Jeep.

Naugatuck officers say there have been numerous stolen vehicles in the greater Waterbury area recently. Many of the cars and SUV’s were left unattended with their engines running, or
