Two Arrests In Credit Card Scheme, ID Theft

Wallingford Police say they’ve arrested two New York residents in a fake credit card scheme.

Police saw 26-year-old Ericca Johnson of Brooklyn,  and 26-year-old Oliver Larsen of Elmont, New York, attempting to use the cards to buy gift cards and other items. They say the pair had visited a series of businesses on North Colony Road in Wallingford and had used forged credit cards at each before they were finally caught.

Police worked with the Secret Service to determine that 44 credit cards found either in the possession of the two or hidden in their vehicle were fakes.

Johnson and Larsen are charged with multiple counts of forgery and conspiracy, identity theft, drug and other charges.

Police say when using the fraudulent or forged credit cards,  the pair bought a birthday card at they same time they purchased the gift card.   The investigation is continuing.
