Education Budget Headed for a Third Vote in Newtown

Voters in Newtown will have to go to the polls at least one more time, after rejecting an education budget for the second time in less than a month.In the April 23  referendum the  education budget failed by  482  votes.Tuesday the vote was much closer, with the budget rejected by only 52  votes.

The municipal budget was approved and is now finalized.The Newtown Legislative  Council will meet next week,most likely on Wednesday to set a new budget for a referendum.The next  vote, most likely, will be held on June 4.
