Charges Being Upgraded In Drunk Driving Crash That Killed Baby

A 1-year-old died overnight, after being hurt in a drunk driving crash in Waterbury.

Aaliyah Santiago was strapped into a car seat in the back of a compact vehicle that was stopped at a red light.

Waterbury Police Captain Christopher Corbett says the drunk driver’s sedan hit the car from behind at a high rate of speed.

“This is one of the most tragic car crashes we have seen in a very long time, obviously because of the age of the victim,” Corbett said.

Thirty-one year-old Anthony Faulk of North Carolina is being charged with manslaughter with a motor vehicle.

The child’s mother, Takiah Rollinson, was behind the wheel of the Mazda Protege stopped at the light, when the Chevy Impala driven by Faulk slammed into the small car.
