HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) _ The Back9Network, a cable and Internet-based network devoted to the golfing culture, has opened its new digital center in Hartford.
Gov. Dannel P. Malloy and other dignitaries were on hand for a Friday evening ceremony, welcoming the network to the city.
The company has 25 employees and has promised to bring another 25 to the city before the end of the year.
James Bosworth, the company’s founder has said he was drawn to Connecticut by the financial incentives, its proximity to New York, and because other sports-based media companies, such as ESPN, already were here.
The company’s headquarters including a $1.3 million, 13,500 square foot, digital production facility and a street level studio on Constitution Plaza.
