Computer Glitches Affect Air Travelers

Eleven flights at Bradley Airport could be affected by a system-wide problem with American Airlines computers.

Five departing and six arriving American and American Eagle flights are scheduled at Bradley through midnight.
American asked the Federal Aviation Administration to halt its flights until 5 this afternoon.  Regional American Eagle flights to Dallas, Chicago or New York’s LaGuardia Airport have been stopped until at least 3:30 p.m.

Passengers at some airports– but not Bradley —  are reported to be  stuck on planes while others can’t make reservations.

At Bradley, passengers are being checked in manually,  but anyone with travel plans is urged to check with the airline.

American has been sending apologies on twitter,,  but has not provided many details about when the problem will be fixed.
