Event To Help Struggling Homeowners

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) _ The state of Connecticut is offering help to struggling homeowners with loan modifications, foreclosure prevention, debt management and other issues.

The latest in a series of free forums is scheduled for Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Omni New Haven Hotel. The event is sponsored by the Department of Banking, Gov. Dannel P. Malloy and Attorney General George Jepsen

Representatives from various mortgage lenders and loan servicing companies are scheduled attend. They include officials from Bank of America, CitiMortgage, Fannie Mae, GMAC Mortgage and others.

Housing counseling agencies, including the New Haven Greater Community Loan Fund and Catholic Charities, will also be on hand.
