Courtney: Sub ‘Miami’ Won’t Be Scrapped

Though the Navy announced in September that it planned to repair the fire-damaged submarine “USS Miami,”  the budget cuts caused by “sequestration”  in Washington had left doubt about the project.

Now Congressman Joe Courtney says he has been notified that the work will continue.   He called it “the right decision for our submarine force, and for talented men and women of Electric Boat who are already helping carry out the critical work of getting Miami back into service.”
