Developers held a ground breaking ceremony today for a new music venue at the Front Street development in Hartford.
Developers say construction will start this week, on Infinity Music Hall Hartford.
Right now, the space inside the building is still open, with exposed girders and pipes on the ceiling, and gravel on the ground.
The venue will be run by the owners of the Infinity Music Hall in Norfolk.
The state contributed about $1.3-million to the music hall project, largely in the form of a loan that the music hall may not have to pay back, if it creates enough jobs.
When the venue is finished, it will have 500 seats.
Other parts of the Front Street Development are still vacant.
