Emergency Adjusters’ Licenses Extended For Blizzard

After Hurricane Sandy, the state Insurance Department issued emergency licenses to insurance claims adjusters.  Department Consumer Affairs official Gerard O’Sullivan says the department is now extending those emergency licenses by 90-days, to help insurers deal with claims from the blizzard.

“We are going to want to get adjusters from other states in to process these claims quickly so people can get the money to repair their homes and repair their cars, and hopefully get life back to normal,” O’Sullivan said.

Nearly 6,000 emergency adjuster licenses were issued to more than 90 insurance companies after Sandy.
