Gun Rights Supporters Defy Blizzard For Rally
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — A few dozen Rhode Islanders have braved winter weather to rally at the Statehouse against gun control proposals.
Participants in Friday’s rally say they didn’t want the snow and wind to drown out their message of opposition to efforts to restrict gun ownership.
The rally was held inside the Statehouse, though participants did erect some signs on the Statehouse steps.
Few other people were in the building Friday and most Statehouse workers decided to take the day off or work from home.
Friday’s weather is forecast to bring heavy snows and strong winds to the area Friday through Saturday.
