For the first time in seven years, Connecticut home sales rose in 2012, according to a report released Wednesday.

Across the state single-family home sales rose nearly 15 percent – that’s the highest level in three years – and there was an increase in all eight counties, with Tolland County seeing the biggest jump of 30 percent. Hartford County sales were up more than 20 percent.

Still, the amount of homes sold – a little over 24,000 – is well below the 30,000-plus number used to signify a market in recovery and economists say, there’s still a ways to go.
