Five Cats Die In House Fire

WEST HAVEN, Conn. (AP) — Authorities say a fire in a vacant West Haven home killed five cats.

The New Haven Register reports that police say no people were injured in the blaze Saturday afternoon, though the home was heavily damaged. They’re still investigating how the fire started at the home on the town’s east side, less than a block from the shore.
