A cannonball found by a neighbor in someone’s South Street yard in Enfield Friday night around 8 p.m. proved to be inert after state police investigated the device.
The passerby saw the cannonball, took it to his home, went on the Internet to discover it could be dangerous and alerted police who responded to the scene.
No evacuations were ordered and the scene was quickly cleared.
