Non-Profits Rally Against Budget Cuts; Governor Announces Capital Improvement Fund

Hundreds rallied at the state Capitol Wednesday, calling for preservation of the social service “safety net”  for the state’s neediest as the governor and the legislature prepare to take up budget cuts .

During the rally,  Governor Malloy announced that next week’s budget address will include $20 million dollars for capital improvements for non-profit social service agencies, so they can spend more money on services.
