Police Say Weapon Was Illegally Modified

Shelton Police say their investigation of a domestic dispute earlier this month has led to additional charges in the case.  Police say they determined that one of the weapons at the home of 58-year-old Michael Soda of Sheton Road had been illegally altered.

Police say Soda is now charged with two counts of disorderly conduct and one count of illegal possession of an assaut weapon.

Police say modifications to the Chinese-made Norinco brand AK-47 7.62 x 39 mm assault rifle put it in the category of a bannned weapon.  Soda turned himself in upon learning that a warrant had been issued.
