BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (AP) _ A former Bridgeport drug dealer who is on death row for ordering the killings of a woman and her 8-year-old son is facing another murder trial next month.

The Connecticut Post reports that jury selection for the trial of Russell Peeler Jr. has been scheduled for Feb. 4 in Bridgeport Superior Court. Peeler is charged in the 1998 killing of Rudolph Sneed Jr. in Bridgeport.

Peeler was sentenced to death in 2007 for ordering the 1999 murders of Karen Clarke and her son, Leroy “B.J.” Brown, in their Bridgeport home. The boy was expected to be a witness against Peeler in the killing of Sneed, who was Clarke’s boyfriend.

Peeler was convicted of Sneed’s killing during an earlier trial, but the state Supreme Court overturned the conviction.
