Chief: Self-Inflicted Gunshot Likely Took Norwalk Officer’s Life

Norwalk police are mourning the loss of one of their own.  Police Chief Thomas Kulhawik says 41-year-old Officer Kenneth Cerulli was found dead in his home after six p.m. Tuesday evening.  Kulhawik says the cause of death was believed to have been a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The officer was found in his Norwalk bedroom.  Kulhawik says Cerulli’s department issued firearm was not used and there didn’t appear to be any evidence of foul play.

Cerulli joined the force in February of 2011.  He leaves behind his wife.  The couple had no children.
