EAST HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) _ East Hartford officials say an early morning fire at a condominium complex has injured seven residents and three firefighters.

The fire was reported Tuesday morning at the Gateway Estates Condominiums off Ellington Road. Condos near the fire were evacuated and several ambulances were called to the scene.

It’s not clear yet how serious the injuries are.

Firefighters have extinguished the flames but remain on the scene.

The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
