Salvation Army Contributions Reach About $200,000

This year’s Salvation Army WTIC Holiday Store collections totalled about $200,000, according to Major Brian Glasco.  At noontime Christmas Eve,  the total as counted at the Avon location stood at about $196,000,  with contributions to the Glastonbury location still to be added

He also said there was an increase in the dollar value of toys donated this year.  He said many donors specified their contributions were a tribute to the victims of the Sandy Hook School shootings,  or somehow included the number “26,” in recognition of the 26 educators and students killed there.
