Coyote Blamed For Crash That Closed Parkway During Rush Hour

WESTPORT, Conn. (AP) _ A coyote that walked onto the Merritt Parkway in Westport is being blamed for a rush-hour crash involving multiple vehicles.

Firefighters say drivers reported striking a coyote that entered the roadway Wednesday morning.

The Hartford Courant ( ) reports that one of the cars caught on fire but nobody was injured.

The northbound lanes were closed as firefighters tended to the motorists and extinguished the fire.
