MANSFIELD, Conn. (AP) — State police say one person has died in Mansfield after being hit by a falling tree as Superstorm Sandy ravaged Connecticut.

Trooper Anthony Gordon says the accident happened Monday afternoon and was storm-related, but he had no other details.

WFSB-TV reported the person became pinned under the tree on West Highland Road.

Police were also investigating a report that a firefighter was injured in Easton Monday when a tree limb struck the truck he was in. The extent of those injuries was not immediately known.
