HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) _ Police say an argument at a party in Hartford ended with the shooting and wounding of a 20-year-old New Haven man.

Police Lt. Brian Foley says that the victim was treated for a minor gunshot wound to the leg and released from hospital Saturday.

Authorities say the victim flagged down a Hartford police officer and initially reported that the party and shooting occurred on Trinity College campus. A visit to the scene with investigators, however, revealed that the victim is not familiar with the area and the incident had occurred off campus, at a home on Zion Street.

Foley says police are developing information on the suspect and do not believe the shooter has anything to do with Trinity College. The victim is a student at Lincoln Technical Institute.
