Meriden police say the pedestrian was charged after a car-pedestrian accident on East Main Street shortly after noon Friday.
Police say 62-year-old Martin Rosado was crossing the street and fell backwards from the right lane into a slow-moving PT Cruiser in the left lane of East Main. He hit his head, and was unconscious when police arrived at the scene. The driver stopped.
Police say they could smell alcohol on his breath, and he was crossing 30 feet from a designated crosswalk. They ticketed Rosado for “improper use of a highway by a pedestrian.” He was reported in good condition at a hospital.
