FEC Shows $27 Million McMahon Spending On This Campaign

HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) _ Finance records show that Republican Senate candidate Linda McMahon has loaned or contributed more than $27 million to her current campaign for U.S. Senate.

The latest filing with the Federal Election Commission brings to more than $77 million the total amount that the former wrestling executive has spent on this campaign and her unsuccessful bid for Senate in 2010.

The filing indicates McMahon loaned her campaign $14.8 million in the most recent reporting period, between July 26 and Sept. 30.
McMahon’s personal fortune is an advantage in the race against Democratic

U.S. Rep. Chris Murphy, who has raised more than $8 million for his campaign. The two are running to succeed U.S. Sen. Joe Lieberman, an independent who is retiring at the end of this session.
