Bridgeport fire

An elderly man is dead and investigators are trying to determine what sparked a late Sunday night fire in a multi-family home in Bridgeport’s East Side.

It was around midnight when firefighters received a call of smoke showing from the Pembroke Street house.  Robert Petrucelli is Bridgeport’s deputy fire chief.  He says they haven’t determined if the man’s death was directly related to the fire.  Petrucelli says the person was pulled out of the house by the time they arrived on scene.  The victim had suffered from several health issues, according to Petrucelli.

The man’s name has not been released.  No other injuries were reported.
