Elderly Victim Injured In New Britain Carjacking

An elderly woman suffered minor injuries when she was pushed out of her van by a woman who had asked her for a ride in New Britain. Police say the suspect approached the victim outside St. Francis Church on Stanley Street around 5:30 p.m. Saturday. The suspect told the woman her husband had pushed her into a pond during an argument, and the woman’s clothing was wet from the knees down.

The victim agreed to give the woman a ride out of the area. During the ride, the suspect told the victim she was taking her vehicle and pushed the victim out of the van. Police are searching for the victim’s vehicle, a 2007 blue Dodge Caravan with license plate 689-DWM, and the suspect, who is described as a white female in her forties with long dark hair.

Anyone who spots the vehicle or has information about the incident is asked to call the New Britain Police Department at 860-826-3000.
