A black bear charged at a Madison man yesterday.

The man had been leaning out a window making a video of the year-and-a-half old female in his backyard.

As the bear approached, the man ducked back inside, and slammed the window shut.

State Department of Energy and Environmental Protection spokesman Dwayne Gardner says the man is okay.

“We can almost say for certain that when a bear becomes habituated like this, it is because it has become habituated, either unintentionally or intentionally,” Gardner said.

State wildlife officials have set up a trap for the bear, which they say was getting into bird feeders and trash cans and going into swimming pools.
