Woman Arraigned On Charges In Bystander’s Death

A Middletown woman was arraigned Thursday on charges of shooting a man to death on Sterling Street in Hartford.

Tyisha McFadden is charged with murder.

According to a police arrest warrant, a fight between several women and girls led to the shooting.  The witness said Mcfadden had a gun in her hand, and shot repeatedly at a group of people gathered outside a house.  The group included young children, and a newbor.

A woman said she heard the 29-year-old threaten to kill another participant in the confrontation,  and other witnesses told police they saw McFadden back on Sterling Street about two hours later, in the back seat of a car. One witness said she saw McFadden shoot a handgun at a female who had been involved in the fight but the bullet instead struck 46-year-old Errol Campbell.

Campbell died after emergency surgery at Saint Francis Hospital.
