The state has now recorded a second human case of West Nile virus, just a day after the season’s first.
State public health veterinarian, Dr. Randall Nelson says it underscores the Department of Public Health messages urging that everyone take the risk of mosquito-transmitted illnesses seriously.
Yesterday’s report was of a human case of the virus in a patient in his thirties, from New Haven. This latest case is a person in his or her sixties from Stamford who has been hospitalized since late last month with fever and severe muscle weakness.
