Crash Victim Was Under Investigation for Child Sexual Assault

The pilot killed in July 26th crash on approach to Robertson Airport in Plainville was the target of a sexual assault investigation.Torrington police released an unsigned arrest warrant application Friday night for sexual assault on a child for 51 year old James Seaver of Torrington.

According to the warrant application a 14 year old girl claimed Seaver sexually assaulted her when she was 12.The application for the warrant was submitted the day before the crash.

Seaver had rented the plane at Robertson Airport and crashed in into a berm at the end of the runway at Northwest Drive and Johnson Avenue.The FAA,National Transportation Safety Board and Plainville police continue to investigate the crash,including the possibility it was intentional.
