Search Planned Saturday For Missing Thomaston Woman

Waterbury police say volunteers plan an extensive search this weekend for a Thomaston woman missing since early last week.

Organizers expect about 100 volunteers to assemble in the parking lot of Kennedy High School, 422 Highland Avenue,  to search for 62-year-old Barbara Grohs.

Police say she left the doctor’s office July 30,  and was spotted by security cameras walking away from the building,  but has not been seen since. Her family says they hope to hear from someone who may have given her her a ride,  or may have given her shelter.

She’s described as 5-foot-3,  160 pounds,  with brown hair and hazel eyes.
