Young Woman Sentenced In Deadly Drunk Driving Crash

A judge today sentenced a young woman from Suffield to 13-months in prison, in a fatal drunk-driving crash.

Previously, Amanda Conway was convicted after pleading no contest to second degree manslaughter with a motor vehicle and and assault with a motor vehicle.

The Enfield Superior Court clerk’s office says Conway faces 5 years of probation.

Witnesses told investigators they saw Conway drinking vodka at a party, before she got behind the wheel of a Jeep Grand Cherokee.

The vehicle collided with a tractor trailer near an I-91 ramp.

One of Conway’s two teenage passengers, Alexa Crosby, was killed, the other, Ann Bauchiero, was badly injured.

Conway is scheduled to report to prison on August 7.  Until then, she will be on electronic monitoring until then.

At the time of the August 25, 2010 crash, Conway’s father, Matthew Conway, was a state representative.
