NORWALK, Conn. (AP) _ Connecticut State Police say Interstate 95 at Norwalk had to be closed briefly during heavy rains.

Swift storms Sunday flooded the highway causing the shutdown of its southbound lanes and partial closing of northbound roadway in Norwalk about 30 minutes. State police said by evening the highway was “all clear.”

The National Weather Service issued a flood warning for Fairfield County, and there were reports of a condominium fire from a lightning strike in Danbury and a barn fire and propane tank explosion in Bethany after lightning struck a tree and the tree fell on the barn, causing the tank to explode. No one was reported injured.

Also, near Talmadge Hill a downed tree caused delays on the Metro North’s North Canaan line.

The storm also caused some power outages.
