Waterbury police say a suspect in three convenience store robberies in their city also is a suspect in similar hold-ups in Wolcott.
Police arrested 27-year-old Evon Rodruguez in connection with robberies Sunday at the 7-11 on Baldwin Street and the Exxon on Bank Street, and one Monday at the Mobil Mart on Watertown Avenue. In all three, the suspect threatened police with what appeared to be a black handgun.
Police say a surveillance photo from the Exxon robbery resulted in a tip identifying Rodriguez as the possible suspect. Police say when they took Rodriguez into custody, he confessed to all three robberies and to two more in Wolcott. They also recovered a BB gun,
Rodriguez was held in lieu of half a million dollars bond.
