HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) _ A new task force is meeting for the first time to discuss possible changes to Connecticut’s liquor laws.

The 15-member Competitive Alcohol Liquor Pricing Task Force is scheduled to gather on Wednesday at the Legislative Office Building for its organizational meeting. The panel has until Jan. 1, 2013 to come up with recommendations for the new session of the General Assembly.

The group was created earlier this year when state lawmakers passed compromise legislation allowing Sunday retail liquor sales in Connecticut from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at package stores and supermarkets.

Members are expected to review deregulation of prices, taxes, volume discounts and possibly other issues. They will compare their findings with alcohol-related laws in other states.
