Route 4 Pedestrian Dies Of His Injuries; Identified As High School Student

FARMINGTON, Conn. (AP) _ A 14-year-old boy who was struck by a car while crossing the street in Farmington has died.

Police say Mateusz Maciulewski got off a CT Transit bus around 12:40 p.m. Monday and was trying to cross Route 4 when he was hit by a car.

The Hartford Courant reports that the boy was taken to a local hospital and then transferred to Connecticut Children’s Medical Center, where he was kept on life support so that his two older brothers could fly in to see him.

A spokeswoman at the children’s medical center says he was pronounced dead on Tuesday.

He would have started his sophomore year at Farmington High School in the fall.
