Car Plunges Into, Closes Hartford Public Pool

HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) – Authorities say a stolen motor vehicle has crashed through the fence at Goodwin Park in Hartford and plunged into the pool.

Officials say the car was found partially submerged in the pool early Saturday. There was no information on what may have happened to those who may have been riding in the vehicle.

The Connecticut Departments of Children, Families, Youth & Recreation and Public Works says the incident occurred around 4:30 a.m. Saturday, forcing the agency to close the pool until further notice.

Officials say water contamination could force officials to close the pool for an extended time.
