Moose Ambles Through Plainville Center

Monday morning,  a bear found its way to downtown New Britain.  This morning,  a moose was on the loose near the center of Plainville.

Police say people stopped to look.  Captain Brian Mullins says it “caused quite a stir.”

Mullins says it appeared to be a fairly young moose, perhaps two years old.

Mullins says moose have been spotted in more rural areas of Plainville before,  but not downtown.

Police kept people away from the animal, which was tranquillized and captured by wildlife officials from the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection.
