Swimmer In Distress Pulled From Water During Triathalon

A 62-year old Wallingford man was pulled from the water at Sherwood Island State Park this morning during a triathlon.

The Department of Energy and Environmental Protection reports he needed help while swimming.  A nearby lifeguard in a kayak responded and took him to shore,  where he was taken by ambulance to Norwalk Hospital.

No further information was available .
