State officials were on hand Monday for groundbreaking at the $860 million dollar Bioscience Connecticut program.
The project will include a new patient tower at the UConn Health Center, a new parking garage, renovation of the existing Dempsey Hospital building, and a Jackson Laboratory facility . (Click here to see a timeline of the planned changes through 2018.)
Jackson Labs uses genetics to research possible treatment or prevention of diseases.
Governor Dannel Malloy says that with the project, the state is inviting the finest scientists, teachers and medical students in the world to come to Connecticut.
