West Hartford Woman Killed In Nigerian Jet Crash

A West Hartford woman was among those killed in the crash of a Nigerian jet Sunday.  Her employer, United Technologies confirms Maimuna Anyene was among the 153 people on board the Dana Air flight from Abuja to Lagos.

A neighbor says she and her children had traveled to Nigeria to attend a family wedding and to visit her husband, who works there.  Neighbors say the children were believed to have been on the plane with her,  as well as a caregiver,   possibly an older relative.

Her neighbor Jack Ohayam says she and the children were always polite and sharing,  and says it’s an eerie feeling to look at her townhouse, knowing about the crash.  He says she had been looking forward to the trip.

UTC said she had worked there more than four years.  The company issued a statement calling her an invaluable part of the team, and saying she will be deeply missed.
