Two Hikers Air-Lifted From Beseck Mountain

A man and a woman from Wethersfield were reported in stable condition at Hartford Hospital Saturday morning after falling while hiking on Beseck Mountain in Middlefield Friday night.

State Police say Linda Klapatch, 25, and Connor Mullen, 28, suffered non-life threatening injuries. One of them fell approximately 50 feet; the other fell approximately 100 feet, according to firefighters.

Authorities say the two were stuck for hours before rescuers were able to reach them in the area of Lake Beseck.

Firefighters tell WTIC News, it was a cry for help heard by a neighbor that drew rescuers to the scene.
