Wrong-Way Crash On I-95 Injures Trooper

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (AP) _ State police are expected to file charges against a driver who crashed head-on into a state police cruiser and injured a trooper in a wrong-way accident on Interstate 95 in Bridgeport.

Authorities say John Mysliwiec of Shelton drove the wrong way in the northbound lanes Thursday night when he struck

Trooper Gregory Lebeau’s cruiser and another car between exits 27 and 28. The northbound side of the highway was closed for several hours.

Mysliwiec was taken to a hospital with a head injury and broken ribs, and Lebeau was hospitalized with head and arm injuries. Police say none of the injuries is life-threatening.

The accident apparently happened while Lebeau was responding to separate accident.

State police are investigating.
